How NC State is experimenting with a new approach to 'maximize' production from its designated hitters

NC State coach Elliott Avent has searched for a way to spark his team’s batting order this season. To this point, the Wolfpack has deployed nearly 30 different combinations of nine hitters in the first 33 games to look to find the best version of the team’s offense. And after its 7-4 midweek win over UNC-Wilmington on Tuesday night at Doak Field, NC State added a new wrinkle to the approach at the plate.
