Michigan picked up a blue-chip commitment from four-star offensive lineman Sidney Rouleau Sunday. He’s the No. 300 recruit in the country and picked the Wolverines over offers from Penn State, Clemson, Miami, Ohio State and many others.

The top priority lineman from Gatineau, Quebec, pledged to U-M shortly after a three-day trip to Ann Arbor. He spent March 26-28 on campus, bonded with the new staff and, after taking an in-depth look at the program, decided to shut things down and pick the Wolverines over a long list of Power Four opportunities.

“It was great again!!” Rouleau said. “Michigan never disappoint me whenever I go down there!!! The new staff fires me up.”

Rouleau was a priority for the Wolverines’ previous staff. He visted twice over the past couple of years and shared positive reviews of those experiences.

“It was a awesome visit!” Rouleau told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong after a game day visit last fall. “Great time with the coaches. They make Michigan feel like home!”

Rivals lists the lineman at 6-5, 240 pounds. A source close to the newest Michigan commit told The Wolverine that he’s now measuring 6-6, 260 pounds. Offensive line coach Jim Harding is his primary recruiter and re-offered the lineman March 10. Less than three weeks later, the new staff got him on campus and secured his commitment.

The new staff left an excellent impression and surged to the top of his recruitment. Tennessee and Clemson were considered the teams to beat before Michigan flipped this recruitment on its head and added the four-star prospect to the class.

Rouleau is the No. 18 interior offensive line prospect nationally and the No. 41 recruit in Texas. He plays his high school football for Bullard (Texas) The Brook Hill School.

The Wolverines now hold five commitments in the 2027 class. Rouleau joins Rivals300 edge rusher Recarder Kitchen, three-star safety Darrell Mattison, three-star safety Maxwell Miles three-star offensive lineman Louis Esposito and three-star offensive lineman Tristan Dare in the program’s 2027 class.
