Recruitment

Reeder grew up in a house divided between Michigan and Ohio State fans. He always wanted to wear the Maize and Blue and play in The Big House. The linebacker committed to Wisconsin and felt quite a bit of loyalty to the Badgers, but the opportunity to play for the Wolverines was too good to pass up. Reeder flipped to Michigan Nov. 6, shortly after wrapping up an official visit in Ann Arbor.

He Said It

“I always dreamt of playing in those big games so, after the visit, I kind of knew that was home,” Reeder said.

“The tradition is deep-rooted,” Reeder said. “That’s beautiful. The culture and tradition is everything there. It’s all about culture, tradition and the players.”

They Said It

“This is your dream. Live your dream. You’ll go there for five years, you’re going to get a Michigan Education, which is phenomenal—I’m not saying Wisconsin’s not because I’ve had kids play at Wisconsin too— but this is your dream, son, pursue it! Because the dream isn’t going to pursue you”

“I’m going to miss him. Not just as a player, I’m going to miss him just as a kid.” — St. Xavier head coach Steve Specht.

Scouting Report

“Aden Reeder is a versatile linebacker who is part of one of the better linebacker groups in the Midwest, pairing with Notre Dame commit Kobe Clapper at St. Xavier. Reeder is a prospect who we haven’t really seen on the camp circuit, so our main exposure to him is mainly via high school film on Friday nights. I think he’s a really good player.”

“He’s a guy who can do a lot of different things. He can rush the passer. He’s comfortable in space. He can play within a phone booth as a run defender, coming downhill. He looks to have good strength. He runs well. He has a well-rounded skillset based on what he’s put on film throughout his high school career.” — Rivals director of scouting and rankings Charles Power.
