After transferring from Virginia Tech to LSU ahead of the 2025 season, Delane turned in an All-American year for the Tigers.
And after a season spent under LSU cornerbacks coach Corey Raymond, Delane is now expected to be the first cornerback selected in the 2026 NFL Draft – which puts him along many “DBU” greats that went from LSU starter to NFL first-round pick.

He joined Patrick Peterson (2011’s No. 5 pick), Morris Claiborne (2012’s No. 6 pick) and Derek Stingley Jr. (2022’s No. 3 pick) as the fourth former Tigers cornerback to be taken inside the Top 10, and he joins Claiborne as the asixth player to come off the board.

The Arizona Cardinals used the No. 3 pick – to the surprise of some – to secure the draft’s top running back in Notre Dame’s Jeremiyah Love. Then, to the surprise of many, the Tennessee Titans used the No. 4 pick on Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate.
