LSU DT Jacobian Guillory announces plans to return for 2025
Veteran defensive tackle Jacobian Guillory plans to return to LSU for the 2025 season.
The fifth-year senior from Alexandria, out for the remainder of this season with a ruptured Achilles, shared the news Thursday with the Jordy Culotta Show.
“I want to come back for another season. What I fought for at LSU, I can’t let it end like that,” Guillory said. “So coming back for another season, it’s not only big for me, but it’s big for my family. It’s big for Alexandria back home. It’s big for everybody.”
The 6-foot-2, 320-pound athlete, nicknamed “Tank,” was the leader of the Tigers’ defensive tackle room entering this season and garnered praise from coach Brian Kelly for his maturation and technical development to go with his physical strength and explosiveness.
Guillory started the first two games of this season before suffering the injury in the home opener Sept. 7 against Nicholls State.
He played all 13 games for the Tigers last season, including one start, and finished with 27 tackles and two quarterback hurries.
Guillory told The Culotta Show that watching his teammates play and not being able to join them on the field has been difficult, but that he has been making consistent progress in his recovery to get back to full strength.

“It’s been tough, because like, you don’t want to go out like that, especially like, not even for myself, but for my family,” he said. “They were so hyped up to watch my senior season… but this is like a blessing in disguise because I get to spend more time at home with my son and just learn the game more.
“Just attacking it every day like I would a practice. So attacking my treatment like a practice and stuff like that. That’s all I can really do.”
Arizona transfer Paris Shand has started alongside Wisconsin transfer Gio Paez at defensive tackle in four of the six games since Guillory’s injury, including all four SEC matchups.
Freshman Ahmad Breaux, from Ruston, started the Tigers’ non-conference games against UCLA and South Alabama.
