A pair of former LSU Tigers have had a strong start to Senior Bowl practices, showing their speed and talent level against elite competition. Aaron Anderson and Barion Brown have continued to work relentlessly to raise their draft stock in the coming months and this is a chance for them to shine with GMs, coaches, and media watching.

The Panini Senior Bowl is an invite-only showcase that began practices Tuesday and concludes with a game on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. CT on NFL Network.

Brown and Anderson talked with some media after practices and Brown also talked with Off The Bench with Matt Flynn and Jacob Hester on Wednesday. Here are some highlights from their practices and what they said about their process.

Barion Brown, LSU wide receiver

On his mindset…

“Today was great. Just getting my feet under me and doing everything I need to do in the run game and running my routes to perfection, and just having fun out here. Just keep going hard each and every day, attacking every day like it’s my last, and keeping my best foot forward.

On the pressure of the pre-draft process…

“I wouldn’t say it’s stressful. This is the life I always wanted. I wake up every day happy, thanking the Lord that I’m right here. I’ve had four different quarterbacks and four different OCs in four years, so learning a couple plays isn’t really too much for me. I process stuff really well. If you want to learn it, you’ll learn it. There’s not much pressure, just taking every moment and knowing you only get one life to live and making the most of it.”

On the competition at the Senior Bowl…

“This is what it’s here for, the best of the best. Just attacking every day like it’s a normal day. Just keeping my best foot forward, attacking every workout, attacking every day, attacking every rep to the best of my ability, and knowing what I want to get to and putting in the work to get there.”

On his time playing at LSU

“I just focused on keeping the guys locked in and keeping the main thing the main thing, going out there and doing our best to win games for us, the coaches, the fans, and everyone supporting us. Coach Wilson did a great job stepping in and firing us up. People doubted us, but it was a great experience. I love BK, and even though things didn’t go how we wanted, that’s life. I was blessed to be coached by BK and Coach Wilson.

“Great experience. Great coaches, great atmosphere, great fan base. I was only there for a year, but they took me in. I love Baton Rouge for life. LSU was an experience I wish more people could have. With Lane coming in and all the hype around it, it’s going to be a fun season to watch next year.”

Aaron Anderson, LSU wide receiver

“I’m good. First day at practice, back at it, competing. I’m excited, giving my all, and I can’t wait to come back out here and get one percent better tomorrow.

On how other corners are playing him…

“A lot of them are going to try to quick-jab me because I’m small. They’ve got a lot of long defenders out here. But it’s about fighting through the finish, finishing at the top of the route. I’m always going to win at the top of the route.

“I’m a route runner. Size don’t matter—it’s heart over height.”
