Tyler Herro's younger brother, Myles, commits to Big Ten program

A third Herro brother will suit up to play Division I men’s college basketball.

On Monday, On3’s Joe Tipton reported that Myles Herro has committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes. The 6-foot-3 class of 2025 point guard also held offers from the likes of Cal Poly, Southern Illinois, and Western Illinois. Herro is considered a three-star recruit and is ranked No. 288 overall in his class.

Myles is the youngest of the three Herro brothers. The middle brother, Austin, is currently enrolled at the University of St. Thomas, having transferred from South Carolina after two seasons of limited playing time. And then, of course, the Big Blue Nation is very familiar with the eldest brother, Tyler, who was a one-and-done at Kentucky (2018-19) and is coming off his first-ever NBA All-Star season in 2024-25 with the Miami Heat.

All three brothers played high school basketball at Whitnall (WI).

As a senior at Whitnall this past season, the youngest Herro averaged 22 points, seven assists, and five rebounds per game, earning First-Team All-Conference and First-Team All-Area along the way. On the AAU circuit, he played for Team Herro under the coaching guidance of his father, Chris Herro.

“I’d describe my game as a pass-first guard who can create when needed and score the ball too,” Myles told On3. “I take pride in being a two-way player, someone who can impact both ends of the floor and bring energy every time I step on the court.”

Herro will join an Ohio State team that finished 17-15 last season (including a win over Kentucky in the CBS Sports Classic) under first-year head coach Jake Diebler. He’s the fifth new addition for the Buckeyes this offseason and the 14th roster piece for the 2025-26 season. Former Kentucky assistant coach Joel Justus, now on staff at OSU, was heavily involved in recruiting Herro to Columbus.
