RPM Pick for Kentucky to Land a 2027 QB Prospect

Nick-Roush-headshotby: Nick Roush04/03/26RoushKSR

The QB dominoes are beginning to fall in the 2027 recruiting class and Kentucky could soon seal the deal for a talented four-star passer.

On Friday afternoon, Izzy Abrams announced his decision to commit to Miami on the Pat McAfee Show. Rivals’ third-ranked quarterback in the country visited Lexington earlier this spring and had the Cats as a finalist. His decision to commit elsewhere helps us narrow Kentucky’s focus.

Abrams was one of more than a handful of four-star passers who spent time checking out Will Stein’s program over the last few months. Jake Nawrot created quite a stink when he posed for a picture with Lamar Jackson’s Heisman Trophy, but the Iowa legacy is likely following his father’s footsteps to Iowa City. The nation’s top-ranked QB, Elijah Haven, is slated to arrive in Lexington for the final weekend of spring practice, but he’s considered an Alabama lean. Stein recruited Keegan Croucher during his time at Oregon. The Ole Miss commit actually had plans to visit Kentucky last weekend, but those were scrapped at the last minute.

As dominoes start to fall elsewhere, one prolific passer is not shying away from his interest in Kentucky. As they say, actions speak louder than words.

Andre Adams recently took a trip to Florida State. He was slated to be in Boulder on Friday to see Colorado one last time before his commitment. It’s unclear if that trip is still happening because he’s visiting Kentucky on Saturday morning for the Wildcats’ first scrimmage of spring practice. It will be Adams’ third trip from the Nashville area to Lexington this spring.

Eight days away from a decision, I am placing an RPM pick for Kentucky to secure a commitment from Adams.

Adams is ranked by Rivals as the No. 12 quarterback and No. 134 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class. Last fall, he completed 71% of his passes for 3,418 yards with 35 touchdowns and only one interception. A true duel-threat player, he also logged 855 rushing yards on 100 carries with 13 additional touchdowns. Adams set a TSAA single-game record with 714 total yards (507 passing, 207 rushing) in a game.

A commitment has been scheduled for Saturday, April 11. In addition to Kentucky, Florida State, Colorado, Mississippi State, Oregon, and Virginia Tech are finalists. Big Blue Nation could receive some excellent news from the trail in eight days.
