LIVE BLOG: Kentucky vs. Texas A&M
Kentucky played one of its best games of the season vs. Vanderbilt on Saturday. Can the Cats keep the momentum rolling vs. a desperate Texas A&M team in College Station? KSR’s LIVE BLOG will bring you all the sights and sounds from Reed Arena as Kentucky takes on the Texas A&M Aggies (7 p.m. ET, ESPN2).
Kentucky has won back-to-back games, trending as a No. 6 seed in the latest NCAA Tournament projections. Texas A&M is headed in the other direction, losing two straight and six of its last eight, putting them on the bubble. Bucky McMillan’s squad punishes teams with “Bucky Ball,” a full-court press on both offense and defense. Teams have figured it out during conference play, but the action will be nonstop tonight. The Aggies are led by graduate forward Rashaun Agee, who averages a team-high 14.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. He’s scored 15+ in each of his last four games and has 11 double-doubles this season, which ranks second in the SEC.
Both teams need a win tonight for SEC and NCAA Tournament seeding purposes. Texas A&M is a 2.5-point favorite. Will the Cats pull off the upset? Refresh the feed below for updates, and KSR’s takes on the game from Reed Arena and the couch. You can also join the conversation on the KSBoard Game Thread.

FINAL: Texas A&M 96, Kentucky 85
03/03/2026 08:34:10 PMIt’s finally over, Texas A&M winning by a final score of 96-85. Kentucky falls to 19-11 on the season, 10-7 in SEC play. After leading by 12 with eight minutes to go in the first half, the Cats collapsed, allowing Texas A&M to finish the first half on a 27-3 run and maintain control in the second half.
Otega Oweh and Mo Dioubate were the only Cats to finish in double figures, with 24 and 19 points, respectively. Oweh was just shy of a double-double, also grabbing nine rebounds to go along with five assists. Dioubate was an impressive 8-9 from the floor and also pulled down seven rebounds. Good performances in a bad loss, unfortunately.
Trent Noah had nine points, but rolled his ankle in the final minute of the game after backpedaling into Mark Pope and rolling his ankle stepping on his foot. It was that kind of night in College Station.

This game may never end
03/03/2026 08:29:00 PMIt feels like we’ve been in the final minute of this game for an hour. Please just let it end.
Kentucky fans just got kicked out
03/03/2026 08:24:51 PMA decent number of Kentucky fans made the trip to College Station. Some of them just got thrown out.
And now Trent Noah may be hurt
03/03/2026 08:19:18 PMIn the midst of one of his best games all season, Trent Noah just got hurt. Noah backpedaled right into Mark Pope, rolling his ankle off Pope’s foot. Hopefully, it’s not serious.
Trent Noah coming alive!
03/03/2026 08:16:06 PMMake it two threes for Trent Noah tonight! He just earned three more points the hard way at the free-throw line after drawing a foul. He’s up to nine points. Kentucky’s within seven with 1:10 to go…
1:08 2H: Texas A&M 88, Kentucky 81
1:45 2H: Texas A&M 86, Kentucky 75
03/03/2026 08:12:57 PMAn Otega Oweh three-pointer has the lead down to 11 with 1:45 to go. He’s up to 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Texas A&M fans are already leaving
03/03/2026 08:08:13 PMOpposing team’s fans leaving arenas early is usually a good sign. Not tonight. According to Adam Stratton, our representative in College Station, Texas A&M fans are hitting the exits, probably to get a head start on traffic because this one is all but over.
The lead is 13
03/03/2026 08:04:56 PMKentucky has gotten the lead down to 13, but the Cats may be running out of time. Mo Dioubate is trying his hardest to drag Kentucky back into this game, scoring the last five points. He’s up to 17 points, his most in SEC play.
He’s going to need more help, or this one’s over (it’s probably already over).
3:04 2H: Texas A&M 84, Kentucky 71
7:29 2H: Texas A&M 76, Kentucky 61
03/03/2026 07:49:19 PMMo Dioubate is still hustling, cutting the lead to 15 with back-to-back layups. He has 12 points, joining Otega Oweh (15) as the only Cats in double figures.
Kentucky could really use the rest of the three-headed GOAT to show up. Denzel Aberdeen has nine points, Collin Chandler three. The trio is 8-24 from the field for 27 points so far.
Trent Noah hit a three
03/03/2026 07:38:41 PMGood news: Trent Noah hit his first three-pointer since January 31 to cut Texas A&M’s lead to 15.
Bad news: Rylan Griffin answered it with one of his own to push the lead back to 18. The Aggies are 10-22 from beyond the arc tonight. Just one of many things they’re doing well that Kentucky is not. The Cats also have 10 turnovers to Texas A&M’s three, leading to 18 Aggie points.
11:06 2H: Texas A&M 70, Kentucky 52
12:50 2H: Texas A&M 64, Kentucky 49
03/03/2026 07:35:46 PMWe had another review. Bucky McMillan’s challenge that the ball went off Otega Oweh out of bounds instead of Pop Isaacs was unsuccessful. That’s about the only thing working in Kentucky’s favor right now. The Cats trail by 15, with Oweh attempting to take over on offense. He just made a pair of free throws. Hopefully, that is the start of the comeback.
It’s getting worse
03/03/2026 07:21:17 PMTexas A&M now leads Kentucky by 19. The Cats are doing much of anything, and even when they do, like back-to-back buckets by Mo Dioubate, the Aggies respond. In that case, it was another three by Zach Clemence. Texas A&M is 9-20 from three tonight, while Kentucky is just 3-13.
The Aggies’ run is now 41-10 over the last 11-plus minutes. It might just be that kind of night for the Cats.
16:00 2H: Texas A&M 59, Kentucky 40
Denzel Aberdeen picks up his 3rd foul
03/03/2026 07:13:56 PMTexas A&M is rolling again to start the second half, outscoring Kentucky 8-3. If you add in the last seven and a half minutes of the first half, the Aggies are on a 35-6 run.
Kentucky’s lone bucket is a three-pointer by Andrija Jelavic, but Zach Clemence answered it with two threes of his own to push the Aggies’ lead to 17. Also not good: Denzel Aberdeen just picked up his third foul. A&M’s big run in the first half happened with Otega Oweh and Aberdeen on the bench, so that is not what you want to see at a point where the Cats really need to get back in the fight.
18:10 2H: Texas A&M 53, Kentucky 36
Chris Tomlin FTW
03/03/2026 07:05:08 PMThis team is living up to its nickname of The Unpredictables tonight, so far, not in a good way. Letting Texas A&M finish the half on a 27-3 run is baffling and frustrating, so I’m going to choose to laugh instead at this spot-on tweet from former KSR writer Chris Tomlin.
HALFTIME: Texas A&M 45, Kentucky 33
03/03/2026 06:54:58 PMKentucky is shooting 44.8 percent from the field, 18.2 percent from three and 62.5 percent at the line compared to 44.4/35/58 splits for Texas A&M. The Wildcats didn’t score a field goal in the last four minutes as the Aggies turned a 27-2 run into a 45-33 lead after the road team pushed ahead by as many as 12.
Otega Oweh, Denzel Aberdeen and Brandon Garrison have six each, followed by Mo Dioubate with four and Collin Chandler, Malachi Moreno and Jasper Johnson with three and Andrija Jelavic with two. Ruben Dominguez went for 14 points on 4-5 from three for A&M, followed by Rylan Griffen with eight and Rashaun Agee and Ali Dibba with six.
UK has turned it over seven times compared to just two for A&M, leading to 10 points off turnovers for the Aggies. Their bench is also outscoring ours 31-13.
Just not good enough.

How did this happen?
03/03/2026 06:50:07 PMAnother 10-0 run for A&M makes it a 23-2 run over the last six minutes as Kentucky is completely out of sorts in College Station. A 12-point lead has turned into a nine-point deficit. The Cats haven’t scored a point in three minutes and have made one of their last 11 attempts from the field. They’re now shooting 46.4 percent overall and 18.2 percent from deep.
Just an epic collapse.
And just like that, Texas A&M leads…
03/03/2026 06:43:30 PMKentucky has turned it over seven times in the first 16 minutes, allowing that 12-point lead we just talked about to flip to a one-point Texas A&M lead. The Aggies have gone on a 13-0 run in the last 3:10 as the Wildcats have missed five straight shots with three turnovers in that stretch.
A road blowout was there for the taking, and now, it’s a brand new ballgame as things wrap up here in the first half.
Unreal.
Trent Noah deserves to have a 3-pointer fall
03/03/2026 06:36:31 PMKentucky pushed the lead to 12 and found Trent Noah wide-stinking-open on the right wing for a three to go up 15 and blow the game open. He couldn’t get it to fall, leading to a three on the other end to cut it to single digits for Texas A&M.
You hate it for him because he’s fighting defensively and on the glass, just as he’s done in recent weeks for the Cats. He’s providing great minutes, just can’t get a single shot to fall through the net. That one was a big miss, unfortunately.
CATS LEAD BY 10 IN COLLEGE STATION
03/03/2026 06:30:39 PMHow about a nice little 6-0 run in 1:20 to take a 10-point lead at Reed Arena? They’re shooting lights-out with 69/50/100 splits as A&M has not scored a point in the last two minutes with one field goal in its last 11 attempts for 29/13/63 splits.
Now two fouls on Jasper Johnson…
03/03/2026 06:25:04 PMSo, make that both of Kentucky’s lead ball handlers with a pair of early fouls. Denzel Aberdeen picked up two in the opening segment, then Jasper Johnson joined him in the next stretch, the latter earning his second foul at the 10:44 mark. He’s got three points and two assists with one turnover in five minutes.
The good news? The Cats are shooting 73% from the field, 50% from three and 100% at the line to lead 22-16. The Aggies are shooting just 40/20/63 splits in the first 11 minutes.
How about Brandon Garrison? He’s stepped up in a major way for UK, scoring six quick points on 3-4 shooting with a steal in six minutes.
15:54 1H: Kentucky 11, Texas A&M 11
03/03/2026 06:16:16 PMOtega Oweh is off to a hot start with six quick points and four made free throws with two rebounds and an assist in four minutes, followed by Collin Chandler with three and Mo Dioubate with two. As a team, Kentucky is shooting 75 percent from the field, 100 percent from three and 100 percent at the line.
Six different Aggies have put points on the board with A&M shooting 66.7 percent from the field on six shot attempts with six free throws.
Two fouls on Denzel Aberdeen in the first segment
03/03/2026 06:13:56 PMNot good for the Cats, folks. Kentucky is already shorthanded at point guard, obviously, with Jaland Lowe out for the season with a shoulder injury, leaving Denzel Aberdeen as the primary ball handler.
He just picked up his second foul at the 15:54 mark in the first half, forcing Jasper Johnson out there early — and maybe for an extended period with Aberdeen stuck on the bench.
Pope said before the game that this could be a big Jasper game. He’s gonna have to prove it.
Matt Santoro DOES NOT MISS
03/03/2026 06:09:34 PMAdd another successful challenge to the long list this season for the Cats — this time on a charge call on Otega Oweh. Kentucky’s video coordinator, Matt Santoro, threw the flag on the officials, saying Zach Clemence was in the restricted area and should instead be called for the shooting foul.
Santoro, again, was correct with the call overturned in favor of the good guys.
Well done, staff.
Not a great crowd to start at Reed Arena
03/03/2026 06:02:34 PMThe ball is tipped in College Station and the crowd is not going to help out the home team — at least early. Apparently everyone is at the baseball game down the street? That’s what KSR’s Adam Stratton says, adding that blue DEFINITELY got in, so be prepared for some GBBs if things go well for the Cats.
No changes in the starting lineup
03/03/2026 05:52:16 PMAs expected, it will be the same five-man group getting us rolling at the opening tip. Denzel Aberdeen will hold down the fort at point guard, followed by Collin Chandler at the two, Otega Oweh at the three, Andrija Jelavic at the four and Malachi Moreno at the five.
As for Texas A&M, it will be a brand-new starting lineup on Senior Night with Marcus Hill, Pop Isaacs, Ali Dibba, Zach Clemence and Federiko Federiko getting the nod.

A big Jasper Johnson game?
03/03/2026 05:46:57 PMPope was asked about the help Kentucky needs off the bench to alleviate the pressure for the core starters in Otega Oweh, Denzel Aberdeen and Collin Chandler. His answer? Keep a close eye on Jasper Johnson.
“I believe in our guys off the bench. We’re putting the ball in Mo’s hands — he can handle the pressure. Trent is really one of our best protect-the-ball guys. Jasper — this game is kind of tailor-made for Jasper. I expect those guys to be great. And BG, of course, has been playing good for us.”
Play fast and fire up some threes? Your time to shine, Jasper.
Mark Pope’s pregame thoughts
03/03/2026 05:41:52 PMWhat can you expect from the Aggies? Coach Pope shared his thoughts on the matchup with Tom Leach.
“They press on every single possession. They’re almost more interested in — (instead of) grabbing an offensive rebound, they’re running to their defensive matchup. If our five-man grabs a defensive rebound by the time he lands on the floor, he’s gonna have a defender chest-to-chest with him for 94 feet, really pressuring them. That’s unique. They change up their defense a lot, of course, they shoot a lot of threes, but they’re really aggressive on the defensive end. They’re changing defenses and shooting threes and playing together. They’re a good team — a really good team.”
Tonight’s officials are…
03/03/2026 05:30:57 PMOfficiating has been a major talking point in recent weeks, so what’s in store tonight for the Cats? K.B. Burdett Jr., Don Daily and Jason Baker will make up the three-man group in College Station.
UK is 41-11 in games with Daily, 20-10 with Burdett and 15-1 with Baker. The Wildcats have not seen any of the three this season, but saw all of them in Mark Pope’s first season. Daily officiated the Colgate (78-67 W), Georgia (82-69 L), Arkansas (89-79 L) and Missouri (91-83 W) games last year while Burdett was a part of the Georgia State (105-76 W), Texas A&M (81-69 W), Vanderbilt (74-69 L), Auburn (94-78 L) and Alabama (99-70 L) matchups. Baker was there for just three in 2024-25: Wright State (103-62 W), Jackson State (108-59 W) and LSU (95-64 W).
Hopefully they all add another win to their totals by the end of the night.
KSR’s Pregame Chat
03/03/2026 05:06:29 PMKSR contributor Adam Stratton has a pretty good track record covering games for us, witnessing Kentucky’s win at Oklahoma last year, so we decided to keep the streak going. He’s in College Station to be our eyes and ears tonight. In fact, he’s at Reed Arena right now, talking with Jack Pilgrim and Zack Geoghegan on our Parlour Pizza Pregame Chat.
