Kentucky Showing Interest in JUCO QB Tre Guerra
Kentucky is in the market for a backup quarterback, and a new name has popped onto the radar. UK has recently been in contact with Tre Guerra, a JUCO transfer QB from Tyler Junior College in Texas.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound quarterback told KSR+ that he’s been in communication with Kentucky head coach Will Stein recently. Guerra, who graduated from Keller (Keller, TX) in 2023 started his college career at Central Arkansas before transferring to Tyler Junior College ahead of the 2025 season.
With Kentucky expected to return its starting quarterback, Cutter Boley, next season, Guerra would be competing for the backup spot. In addition to Boley, Brennen Ward, and Matt Ponatoski are currently the only full-time scholarship quarterbacks remaining on Kentucky’s 2026 roster. UK lost quarterback Stone Saunders to the transfer portal this offseason.
Tre Guerra’s Game
Tre Guerra went 216-for-347 passing with 2,811 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions during the 2025 season with Tyler Junior College. During the 2024 season, a year prior, he went 74-for-121 with 999 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions.
