Kentucky RB Travis Tisdale enters the transfer portal

Kentucky running back Travis Tisdale has entered the transfer portal, sources tell KSR.

Tisdale, a 5-foot-9 sophomore out of Valdosta, GA, officially entered the portal on Tuesday, making him the ninth player in Kentucky’s 2019 recruiting class to leave the program.

Tisdale was rated as the No. 621 prospect and No. 50 running back in the 2019 On3 Consensus. He originally committed to Kentucky over offers from Cincinnati, LSU, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Penn State, TCU, UCF, USC, and West Virginia, among others.

Tisdale played in two games as a true freshman, rushing for 57 yards and a touchdown on five carries. As a redshirt freshman in 2020, he added just 21 yards on six carries in seven games for the Wildcats.

This season, Tisdale carried the ball just one time for four yards in the team’s season-opener vs. Louisiana Monroe. Chris Rodriguez, Kavosiey Smoke, JuTahn McClain served as the team’s core trio of backs, with true freshman La’Vell Wright, sophomore Michael Drennen, and walk-on Tyler Markray all earning more carries in late-game opportunities.

Tisdale joins MJ Devonshire, Shawnkel Knight-Goff, Nikolas Ognenovic, Cavon Butler, Tra Wilkins, Amani Gilmore, Nik Scalzo, and Jake Pope as outgoing transfers from Kentucky’s 2019 recruiting class.
