Saturday was scheduled to be the second big junior day recruiting even for Will Stein‘s Kentucky football program. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had different ideas. The expected visitors list for UK was trimmed due to the winter storm that hit the Bluegrass. That didn’t stop all of the prospects from visiting Lexington.

KSR’s Matt Jones reported on Saturday that a big-time prospect in the 2027 high school class made his way up from South Florida to see UK.

Boca Raton (Fla.) West Boca Raton defensive lineman Jamar Thompson is the No. 93 overall player and No. 9 defensive line prospect in the 2027 Rivals Industry Ranking. The blue-chip prospect was visited by Florida and Miami this week. Over the weekend, Thompson made a trip up to Lexington to see what Kentucky has to offer. Georgia, Ole Miss, and Oregon are other programs in this race.

The new Kentucky football staff made its first big high school recruiting push last weekend. Jamar Thompson has emerged as a key name to know as the race to get official visits in June locked in has started.

The early signing period is still 11 months away but recruiting races can be won now. Kentucky is looking to make a splash in Stein’s first full high school class. Jamar Thompson is one of numerous blue-chip prospects on UK’s recruiting board.
