Eric Bledsoe arrested, charged with felony domestic violence

One of the faces of Kentucky‘s alumni squad in La Familia‘s debut in The Basketball Tournament last summer has been arrested. Eric Bledsoe, a former Wildcat standout in 2009-10 and 12-year NBA player, was charged with domestic violence after allegedly striking a woman in the face, according to TMZ Sports.

The California Highway Patrol told TMZ that Bledsoe was placed into custody at 2:30 AM PT on June 18 after receiving a report of a domestic violence incident on a Los Angeles-area freeway. Officers found the 35-year-old and a woman with “bruising and swelling to her face,” who said the two-time former All-Defensive Team member hit her. Bledsoe allegedly refused to provide a statement and was then booked on a felony DV charge and held on $50,000 bail.

The former Kentucky standout was arrested on a similar charge in 2022, but the case was later dropped when the alleged victim gave “inconsistent statements about whether there was a physical altercation.” At the time, Bledsoe was accused of slapping a woman after she had knocked his phone out of his hand following a dispute, according to TMZ. Booked on October 26, the misdemeanor domestic violence charge was dropped just two days later on Oct. 28.

Suiting up for La Familia last season alongside the likes of Nate Sestina, Aaron Harrison, Andrew Harrison and Willie Cauley-Stein, Bledsoe averaged 14.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game en route to the TBT Semifinals.

As a pro with stints with the Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks and New Orleans Pelicans, Bledsoe has career averages of 13.7 points, 4.7 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 27.8 minutes per contest.

In his lone season as a Wildcat, Bledsoe averaged 11.3 points on 46.2 percent shooting and 38.3 percent from three to go with 3.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game.
