Kentucky wide receiver David Washington Jr. will enter transfer portal
The only transfer portal window of the college football offseason is officially two weeks away. Players are making their free agency intentions know heading into this critical roster-building period. We now know of five scholarship players off Kentucky’s 2025 roster who will be entering the portal.
Wide receiver David Washington Jr. will enter the portal with three years of eligibility remaining.
The former three-star recruit out of Philadelphia (Pa.) St. Joseph’s Prep suffered at some point over the summer and never appeared in a game for Kentucky this past season. David Washington Jr. was on the SEC availability report throughout the season and took a redshirt season after an impressive spring where he appeared to be in the planned rotation at receiver. The wideout played in all 12 games as a true freshman in 2024 with almost all of the action occurring on special teams. The wideout picked UK over Virginia after recording 30 receptions for 561 yards and six touchdowns as a senior for a Mid-Atlantic powerhouse program.
David Washington Jr. is the sixth class of 2024 signee to enter the portal. Jiquavious Marshall (Liberty), Marc Nave Jr. (Purdue), Caleb Redd (Kansas), and Daniel Mincey (UAB) all left the program last offseson. Washington and Steven Soles Jr. are now both looking for a new college football home after spending two seasons in Lexington.
