You Gotta See This Clutch Game-Winning Goal for Kentucky Women's Soccer
The beautiful game does not produce buzzer-beaters, but you can get awfully close. The Kentucky women’s soccer team did just that on Thursday night with a win at the wire.
Kentucky was stuck in a 1-1 tie with East Tennessee State at The Bell. Alexis Tylenda already had one goal on her resume. She decided that wasn’t enough.
In the 89th minute, Tylenda got a defender on her hip, hit the juke stick, then buried the ball into the back of the net.
The season is young, but Alexis Tylenda is on a heater. An SEC All-Freshman selection a year ago, Tylenda has five goals in the first three games of the 2025 campaign, including two in consecutive matches.

Tylenda’s first goal involved a little more teamwork. In the 16th minute, Anna Sikorski lined up for a free kick from near midfield and dropped it right in the box. During the frenzy that ensued, the ball bounced right to Tylenda, who buried the easy goal.
With the 2-1 win over East Tennessee State, Kentucky improved to 3-0 on the year. The Wildcats return to The Bell on Sunday for a home match against Detroit Mercy. All of the action begins at 1 PM ET and this year it will cost you nothing to see the Kentucky Wildcats. Every home game is free. So what’re you doing? Get out there and see some football on the pitch before football on the gridiron begins next weekend at Kroger Field.
