Kentucky is one of many schools in mix for Tennessee transfer Boo Carter
The only transfer portal window of the college football offseason does not open for another two weeks but that hasn’t stopped player movement and chatter from happening. We’ve seen the wheels get into motion for many players who have opted to be free agents. Kentucky is now being mentioned as a potential option for a familiar name.
The Wildcats recruited Chattanooga native Boo Carter heavily in the 2024 recruiting cycle. The top-150 recruit ultimately picked Tennessee and became a starter as a true freshman. Carter spent two seasons with the Vols before entering the transfer portal. UK is one of many programs in the hunt for one of the top free agents available this cycle.
Tennessee defensive back Boo Carter has left the Volunteers program and is set to enter the transfer portal. The early schools to watch to land Carter are Texas Tech, Nebraska, Miami, Louisville, Kentucky, Alabama and Texas A&M.

The Cats are expected to be looking for at least a handful of starters in the portal next month. However, Boo Carter left the Tennessee program in November before the regular season ended. This came just a few months after a period in July where Carter was away from the program and many speculated he could leave Rocky Top.

Boo Carter was a two-way prospect in high school who also returned punts at Tennessee. There seems to be a chance that he could play both sides of the ball at his next stop. Many programs are in this recruiting race for one of the most talented players to enter free agency this offseason.
