The Senior Bowl is off and running down in Mobile. Kentucky running back Seth McGowan and offensive guard Jalen Farmer are attempting to secure a draft spot at the biggest showcase event for the NFL Draft. Another former Kentucky player is also there and is making some noise.

Barion Brown had a strong performance on Wednesday at the University of South Alabama.

“LSU wide receiver Barion Brown lacks the size that NFL teams want (5-foot-11, 176 pounds) but he can absolutely fly in the open field,” ESPN’s Matt Miller wrote. “Brown had only one touchdown reception for the Tigers last season but he’s electric as a return man, with six career kicks returned for scores. With the Senior Bowl moving to a dynamic kickoff rule this year, Brown will have opportunities to shine on Saturday.”

The former top-100 recruit out of Nashville (Tenn.) Pearl-Cohn finished his collegiate career with six kickoff return touchdowns. Barion Brown recorded at least one all four years. This wideout also recorded at least 40 receptions three times during his collegiate career but his production was up and down both at Kentucky and LSU.

Barion Brown entered the draft with 175 career receptions and potential value as a gadget player. The wideout is also a dangerous kick returner. That should lead to Brown becoming a Day 3 pick following a one-year stint at LSU after beginning his career at Kentucky.
