3-star 2025 CB Andrew Purcell commits to Kentucky
All Andrew Purcell needed was a couple of days in Lexington.
On Monday morning, shortly after wrapping up his official visit to Kentucky on Sunday, Purcell announced his commitment to the Wildcats. The Enterprise (AL) High product chose UK over the likes of Georgia and Miami (FL).
“I like everything about Kentucky,” Purcell told On3. “The culture, the people and the coaching staff. Those were big reasons why I committed to Kentucky.”
Clocking in at 5-foot-11, 185 pounds, Purcell is ranked No. 567 overall and the No. 57 cornerback in the 2025 class by the On3 Industry Ranking.
This past weekend marked Purcell’s first trip to Lexington. He officially visited Miami in late May before stopping at Georgia earlier this month. He is also scheduled to officially visit Tennessee this coming weekend, although that trip could now be up in the air.

“This visit was really big for me because it determined who I was going to commit to,” Purcell said. “I really liked it the first day. On the second day at Kentucky, they really set the bar for me. The vibe and environment was perfect.”
Purcell becomes the ninth commitment in the 2025 cycle for Kentucky and the second in the last two days. The Wildcats also received a commitment from three-star WR Ja’Kayden Ferguson on Sunday.
