Last year Tavion Banks was the sixth man of the year in the Missouri Valley Conference, helping lead Drake to a league title. But, one thing he wasn’t good at last year was his three point shooting. In fact, he was just 2-22 from three last season.

Banks put in a lot of work in the off-season and that has paid off after transferring to Iowa. He has gone from a poor shooting option from beyond the arch to a very good three point shooter. This season, Banks is shooting 55% (11-20) from three and 54.5% from deep in Big Ten Conference game.

He talks about the work that he put in during the summer to improve as a shooter, his reflections on his time at the junior college level, and his expectation of facing one of his former JUCO teammates on Wednesday.
