KJ Parker commits to the Iowa Hawkeyes
Wide receiver KJ Parker is headed to the University of Iowa. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound Illinois native announced his verbal commitment to the Hawkeyes today following an official visit to campus this past weekend.
A three-star prospect with an On3 Industry ranking of 85.67, Parker chose Iowa over scholarship offers from Cincinnati, Wisconsin, Iowa State, Marshall, Northern Illinois, Miami-OH, Western Michigan, Toledo, Buffalo, and Ohio, among others.
“What really made me decide on committing to the University of Iowa is the brotherhood there,” Parker told HawkeyeReport.com. “I feel the love from everyone and everywhere I go. Iowa is truly a special place and I’m happy to be taking my hard work and talent there.”
A versatile playmaker, Parker finished his junior season with 37 catches for 1,082 yards and 17 touchdowns at IC Catholic Prep in Elmhurst, IL, where one of his coaches is former Hawkeye Matt Bowen.

Overall, Parker is commitment No. 16 for the Hawkeyes in the Class of 2024. He joins Cam Buffington, Cody Fox, Preston Ries, Derek Weisskopf, Josh Janowski, James Resar, Drew Campbell, Xavier Williams, Brevin Doll, Bodey McCaslin, Will Nolan, Michael Burt, Devan Kennedy, Reece Vander Zee, and Gavin Hoffman in the Iowa’s recruiting class, which currently ranks No. 30 in the country.
“I feel this place is going to take me far,” said Parker. “I just need to take advantage of this opportunity.”
