Jaxx DeJean makes college decision
Class of 2027 prospect Jaxx DeJean has made his college decision. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound tight end announced tonight that he has committed to the Iowa Hawkeyes.
“Iowa just feels like home,” DeJean told HawkeyeReport.com. “With the coaching staff and everyone around the facility, it just feels like there’s already a great connection and of course the history and production speaks for itself.”
DeJean, who is the younger brother of former Iowa All-American Cooper DeJean, said the Hawkeyes not only had the family connection going for them, but also a history of success at his position.
“Playing the tight end position and getting the opportunity to play at Tight End University feels great,” said DeJean.
As a junior, DeJean finished the season with 36 catches for 461 yards and six touchdowns. He also had 149 yards passing, 207 yards rushing, and 172 return yards along with 18.5 tackles and two interceptions on defense for OABCIG.

A four-star prospect, he ultimately chose Iowa over scholarship offers from Michigan, Kansas State, UNLV, and UAB.
“It’s a big relief,” DeJean said. “Obviously, it’s not a easy decision for anyone to make, but I feel like I made the right decision.”
Overall, DeJean is commitment No. 3 for the Hawkeyes, as he joins fellow in-state prospects Gavin Stecker and Braylon Bingham in Iowa’s early 2027 recruiting class.
