WATCH: New Georgia OT commit Jarmaine Mitchell flashes on tape
Georgia kicked off its rivalry weekend with Florida in impressive fashion on the recruiting trail, with word coming on Friday morning that the Dawgs flipped the nation’s No. 1 JUCO offensive tackle Jarmaine Mitchell from the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
A 6-foot-8, 320 pound product of Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson, Mississippi by-way-of Vacherie, Louisiana’s St. Vincent High School, Mitchell becomes the thirtieth commitment of the Class of 2026 for the Bulldogs.
He is the fifth offensive line commit for Georgia in the cycle, joining fellow offensive tackle Ekene Ogboko and interior linemen Graham Houston, Zykie Helton, and Zachary Lewis.
“I didn’t expect the Georgia offer,” Mitchell told Maroon and White Daily’s Paul Jones in September. “They just started talking to me and it came out of nowhere. Illinois and Kentucky are still recruiting me, too.”
While his size is certainly a standout, don’t be fooled — Mitchell moves with ease for a man of his frame, frequently finding himself in the second level and opening up holes with impressive power and physical domination. Turn on the tape to see it in action for yourself.

WATCH JARMAINE MITCHELL HIGHLIGHTS
Mitchell joins a Georgia recruiting class currently ranked second in the nation per the Rivals Industry Team Ranking.
In addition to being the top ranked offensive tackle in the JUCO class, Mitchell is the nation’s No. 7 overall prospect in junior college for the cycle.
Looking ahead to the Class of 2027, Georgia looks well positioned to keep up an impressive offensive line run, being well positioned for the services of the similarly massive Joshua Sam-Epelle of Douglas County High. The junior ranks as the nation’s No. 48 overall prospect for the next class and ticks the tape at 6-foot-8, 305 pounds. Currently, the Dawgs hold an 87.9-percent chance of landing his services per the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine.
