Georgia is in Starkville early on Saturday with Mississippi State awaiting the No. 5 Bulldogs. Both teams come into the noon kickoff fresh off SEC wins last week.

Georgia was in Jacksonville, holding off a big swing from rival Florida. Mississippi State won its first SEC game in nearly two years with a win over Arkansas.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart acknowledged the talent and the enthusiasm that Jeff Lebby has the Mississippi State Bulldogs playing with at the top of the week.

“Really good opponent in Mississippi State,” Smart told reporters on Monday. “Jeff, I know well, and good guy and has done a great job with their program. The energy and enthusiasm coming out of that program, you can see it in the way their kids play. They’ve got no quit in them. These guys have competed. They’ve been in every game they’ve played.”

“They have upgraded the talent level since he’s been there,” Smart continued. “You look at the group he’s put together defensively, offensively and special teams. They’ve got really good players all over the field.”
