Georgia lands commitment from 4-star DL Valdin Sone
Georgia has added another massive piece to the class of 2026 with the commitment of Dyke (Va.) Blue Ridge School four-star defensive lineman Valdin Sone.
Sone chose Georgia over Auburn, Florida and Nebraska on Friday morning. Sone is Georgia’s 30th commit in the class. He’s the sixth defensive lineman to commit to Georgia so far. Georgia also has pledges from four-stars PJ Dean, Carter Luckie, Preston Carey, as well as three-star Corey Howard. Junior college transfer Seven Cloud is also pledged to the 2026 class.
Sone was in Athens for his official visit back on June 20. It was the final visit before he made his decision to jump into Georgia’s class. Sone also took visits to his other three contenders. He visited Florida (June 17), Nebraska (June 13) and Auburn (May 30).

The defensive line development, as well as the priority they have made, Sone stood out to the 6-foot-5, 320-pound defensive lineman, who is considered the No. 15 defensive lineman in the country by the Rivals Industry Rankings.
Georgia has shown priority throughout my recruitment process and has provided me with incredible resources and coaching, most importantly, the amazing development in the defensive tackle position,” Sone told Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett on Wednesday.
