Georgia big man Jackson McVey heading to transfer portal
Georgia has lost another player to the transfer portal as freshman Jackson McVey has announced his intentions to take his talents elsewhere. Georgia has already seen leading scorer Jeremiah Wilkinson, Dylan James and Somto Cyril announce their intentions to move on next season.
Only senior Smurf Millender has announced that he is returning to Georgia next season to this point.
McVey did not make an appearance this past season with the Bulldogs. The 7-foot-1 center signed with Georgia as the No. 206 overall prospect in the Rivals Industry Rankings after playing at Overtime Elite before coming into college.

McVey redshirted this season as Georgia reached its second straight NCAA Tournament. Georgia head coach Mike White was hoping to see development for McVey throughout the season.
“Jackson had a really good practice either yesterday or the day before,” White told reporters in December. “He had a really good day. He’s improved his athleticism and his conditioning, like Somto (Cyril) has done such a good job with. Really skilled passing, shooting big guy who’s got a chance to be a good player.”
McVey’s intent to enter the transfer portal isn’t binding, and a return to Georgia is still possible if both sides are open to that possibility.
