3-star DL Preston Carey signs with Georgia on National Signing Day
East Northport (N.Y) IMG Academy three-star defensive lineman Preston Carey has officially become a Georgia Bulldog.
The IMG Academy star has signed his paperwork. Carey has also been announced as a member of Georgia’s 2026 class on National Signing Day.
Carey committed to Georgia over Florida, Rutgers and others back on June 30. Georgia’s development made a huge impression on Carey. Georgia defensive line coach Tray Scott has been involved in Carey’s life and recruitment for nearly four years. That was a winning piece of the puzzle for Carey and Georgia.
“Coach Scott seeing my development over the years, and it’s not like I’m just another recruit to him,” Carey told DawgsHQ on his commitment day. “I’ve built a relationship with him in the past three or four years. I’ve seen him grow as a coach as well and achieve a lot.”

The relationship in Athens was strong as well.
“I think I have a good relationship there,” Carey said on June 30. “It’s also high-level football. They have a good plan for me… I’m grateful to be recruited and recognized by a school like that. They really want me and I feel the love and I feel like a priority to them.”
Carey is one of the six defensive linemen Georgia has committed to the class of 2026. He joins fellow IMG Academy Zech Fort in the class.
