The Florida State football team landed its second offensive line transfer commitment of the day late Tuesday morning when veteran OL Nate Pabst committed to the Seminoles.

Pabst confirmed his decision to FSU late Tuesday morning, shortly after the Seminoles landed former Purdue and Auburn center Bradyn Joiner.

Pabst, a 6-foot-5, 315-pound offensive tackle, comes to Florida State from Bowling Green, where he started at guard and tackle the past two seasons. He visited FSU this past Sunday, shortly after the transfer portal opened.

EARLIER REPORT

They have not received his commitment as of yet, but the Florida State Seminoles might deserve a blue ribbon for getting offensive line transfer Nate Pabst on campus before any other school.

The Bowling Green transfer visited Florida State on Sunday and said the Seminoles jumped into the running immediately after his name went into the transfer portal.

“As soon as Florida State called, we were like, ‘Yeah, we’ll come visit,'” Pabst said.

The 6-foot-5, 315-pound offensive lineman, who actually started his college career as a defensive end, clearly came away impressed from his trip to Florida State.

“Today was great,” Pabst said. “The people at Florida State have really shown me around and [it] feels like everybody here has a great culture. Great energy around them. Had a great time with Coach [Herb] Hand and Coach [Mike] Norvell today, and it was a good experience.”

Pabst said things clicked between he and Hand, FSU’s second-year offensive line coach, almost immediately.

“Him and I really hit it off like person-connection wise,” the veteran offensive lineman said. “We got a lot of good conversations in, and he seems like my kind of guy. And he told me I seem like his kind of guy. So I think we really hit it off.”

Pabst has played both guard and tackle at Bowling Green. In 2025, he started primarily at tackle and posted Pro Football Focus grades of 69.9 for pass-blocking and 68.5 for run-blocking.

He started primarily at guard in 2024, and he received a 68.2 pass-blocking grade and a 55.4 mark for run-blocking.

As for where he would line up at Florida State, Pabst said he has no preference.

“I told them I just want to play football,” he said. “Probably looking at tackle right now, and then we’ll see what goes on. But I just want to start and play football.”

Pasbt told Warchant and other reporters that he has no other visits planned at the moment.
