UPDATE: Notre Dame DB transfer Karson Hobbs commits to Florida State

Notre Dame defensive back transfer Karson Hobbs committed to Florida State on Friday during his official visit.

Hobbs’ agent, former FSU defensive back JR Bryant, confirmed the decision to On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Hobbs will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Notre Dame defensive back transfer Karson Hobbs will visit Florida State, Warchant has learned.

Hobbs played in seven games in 2025, including making the first start of his career.

In those seven games, he had five tackles, an interception and a pass deflection.

In 2024, he played in nine games and had two total tackles and a pass breakup.

Out of high school, Hobbs was a three-star recruit from Archbishop Moeller in Cincinnati, Ohio. According to Rivals, he was a top-600 prospect and a top-25 player in Ohio.

Hobbs is represented by former Florida State football player JR Bryant who played at FSU from 2004 to 2007.
