FSU forward Alier Maluk intends to enter the transfer portal
One of the two FSU basketball players retained from Coach Leonard Hamilton’s final season, 6-foot-11 sophomore Alier Maluk, announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal. 247Sports first reported the transfer news.
After making what he termed an “easy” call to stay to play for first-year head coach Luke Loucks, Maluk played in 21 games this year, starting three of them. He averaged 1.6 points per game, as well as 1.8 rebounds per game.
Out of high school, Maluk was a top-50 recruit and chose FSU over Oregon, Pittsburgh, LSU and Ohio State.
Though Maluk did lose his spot in the rotation by the end of the season, he was able to deliver in the clutch for FSU against Notre Dame. Maluk came in at the end of the game and was able to hit two critical free throws and ice a road win for the Seminoles in South Bend.

Maluk’s best game came against Mississippi Valley State early on in the season. He scored seven points and added seven rebounds, playing the most minutes of any game at 17.
The Pittsburgh-native turned in two blocks against Houston, as well as two steals at Dayton early in the season.
