What Micthell does best on the field
One thing that jumps off the screen when watching Mitchell is his versatility. Mitchell can do it all, from playing as a one-high safety to playing in the slot as a cornerback. In high school, Mitchell took snaps on offense, but his future is on the defensive side of the ball.
Mitchell comes downhill with force and violence, punishing defenders in the open field. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound safety has excellent hands in coverage and will try to poke the ball free while making a tackle. The three-star is a forced fumble waiting to happen.
The Alabama defensive back runs a 4.41 40 yard dash and shows exceptional closing speed on film. Mitchell’s 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame allows him to make the transition to the SEC. His quick pace of play will let him see the field, most likely as a slot cornerback.
Why Mitchell chose the Florida Gators
After being courted by Billy Napier and Patrick Toney at Louisiana, the new staff took a chance on Mitchell once they arrived in Gainesville.

“I’ve been talking to Florida for a while. I’ve been talking to this staff since they were at Louisiana,” Mitchell told GO’s Corey Bender. “They’re a bunch of good guys. I’ve been talking to them since then, so we go way back.”
The Alabama safety committed to Florida after his official visit on January 16.
“It’s got a rich tradition,” Mitchell previously told Gators Online after Florida offered in late December. “I’ve always liked Florida, to be honest. I have always had a good view on Florida.”
