Florida center Jake Slaughter has earned another Second Team All-American honor, this time from The Sporting News. This is the third out of five possible All-American awards he could receive from major publications.

The Sporting News is the fourth group to name All-Americans this week, joining the Walter Camp Foundation, the Associated Press and the American Football Coaches Association. The Football Writers Association of America will announce its All-Americans on Thursday, Dec. 18. The NCAA Consensus All-Americans will be announced on Friday, Dec. 19.

Slaughter started at center in all 12 games this season. He has played in 51 games and started 33 games during his career. This season, he snapped the ball 748 times and allowed only one sack, one quarterback hit, and two hurries. He earned a PFF offense grade of 78.9 and a run block grade of 82.2. He also earned a pass block grade of 70.0 or higher in 11 games. Slaughter finished the season with a team-best pass block grade of 87.1.

Slaughter played a key role in the success of teammate Jadan Baugh. Baugh ran the ball 220 times this season for 1,170 yards and scored eight rushing touchdowns.

Slaughter ranks eighth in the nation among centers in PFF run block, pass block, and offense grades. He also ranks fifth in the country in zone run block grade with an 80.3.

This season, Slaughter earned Second Team All-American honors from the Walter Camp Foundation and the Associated Press. He was also named a First Team All-American by the Associated Press after the 2024 season. That honor earned him a commemorative brick outside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

In addition, Slaughter was named to the All-SEC First Team, the PFF 2025 All-SEC Team, and the AP All-SEC First Team. He was also named a Second Team All-American by USA Today and The Athletic, and was a finalist for the 2025 Rimington Trophy.
