No. 8 Aggies beat Gators 5-1 to claim series
After splitting the first two games vs. No. 8 Texas A&M, the No. 12 Florida Gators attempted to clinch the series Sunday at Condron Ballpark. But things didn’t work out well for Kevin O’Sullivan’s team.
The Aggies outhit, out-pitched and out-fielded UF to win 5-1.
The Gators won Game 1 on Friday, 9-2. The Aggies rebounded to take Saturday, 8-4.
Texas A&M is 33-8, 14-6 in the SEC. Florida falls to 29-16, 11-10.
The Aggies, who finished with 11 hits, got homers from right fielder Jorian Wilson and catcher Bear Harrison. TAMU reliever Gavin Lyons got the win (he’s 8-0) after pitching three scoreless innings.
UF pitcher Russell Sandefer (2-2) took the loss. He allowed eight hits and three earned runs in 5.0 innings.
