Former Gator D.J. Humphries signs with Kansas City
On Friday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that former Arizona Cardinals offensive tackle D.J. Humphries is medically cleared to return after recovering from a torn ACL.
Now, the former Florida Gators star has found his next team.
According to Rapoport, Humphries is signing with the Kansas City Chiefs for the rest of the season and the deal is reportedly worth up to $4.5 million. He also visited the New York Giants in October but never received a contract offer.
Humphries, a 2021 Pro Bowl selection, was a 2015 first-round selection who spent his first nine seasons with the Cardinals. He has started all 98 of the games he’s played in, including 15 last season before going down with an injury in Week 17. He turns 31 in December.
“Still looking good, the swelling is way down, moving good past 90 degree flexion, got my extension back, we’re rolling,” Humphries said back in March. “Couple more weeks, I’ll be off these damn crutches.

“Whatever the obstacle is, we are attacking it and achieving our goal. Every day I’m going to rehab like I’m trying to get a Super Bowl out of this knee. Whatever I have to do to make sure I am moving the needle. This ain’t the end of it for sure.”
