Alex Kovatchev re-signs with Florida Gators for 2026-27 season
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Another guard has announced his return to the Gators. The latest is Alex Kovatchev, who has re-signed with Florida Victorious.
Kovatchev joins five backcourt players in Boogie Fland, Urban Klavzar, Isaiah Brown, AJ Brown and Alex Lloyd, all of whom re-signed with UF in the last week of March.
Kovatchev appeared in 15 games this year, averaging 3.3 minutes, 0.5 points and 0.4 rebounds in a reserve role. He scored a season-high five points against Prairie View A&M in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Kovatchev scored 198 points in 37 appearances with 16 starts at Sacramento State, averaging 5.4 points and 3.8 rebounds in his career.
He played 33 games as a freshman and Sacramento State’s first four games in 2024-25 before being sidelined with injury for the rest of the season.

Kovatchev spent time competing at The Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence, where he played alongside Alex Condon. They are from the same hometown in Perth, Australia.
