4-star ATH/DB Jalewis Solomon reopens recruitment
Four-star athlete/defensive back Jalewis Solomon has had a change of heart.
The No. 10-ranked athlete in the On3 Industry Ranking has de-committed from Auburn, he told On3’s Chad Simmons.
“It came down to me making a decision pretty early,” Solomon told On3. “I rushed it and I just wasn’t ready when I committed. I have been thinking about this for a while and I just have to take some time and do what is best for myself. Auburn did nothing wrong, but I just had a change of heart.”
Solomon, who is from Schley County (Ellaville, Ga.), committed to Auburn in August after going back and forth between the Tigers and South Carolina. On the day of his announcement, sources close to his recruitment told Auburn Live that he planned to commit to the Gamecocks. However, Solomon switched in the last hour leading up to his announcement and chose the Tigers.
Two months later and he has de-committed from Auburn and will visit South Carolina on Saturday, according to Simmons. Solomon also has visited Florida State. According to Simmons, Solomon’s official visit to Auburn for the Iron Bowl in November has been canceled.
