Alabama wide receiver Rico Scott is no longer expected to enter the NCAA transfer portal and will return to the Crimson Tide for the 2026 season, per BamaOnLine’s Charlie Potter.

It was initially reported on Sunday that Scott planned to enter the portal and find a new home.

The 6-foot wide receiver was a 4-star prospect in Alabama’s 2024 recruiting class out of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He redshirted the 2024 season, appearing in four games and catching five passes for 60 yards and a touchdown. He became a rotational receiver on the Crimson Tide offense in 2025, playing in all 15 games with three starts. He totaled season stats of 11 catches for 98 yards and two touchdowns.

He’ll be a redshirt sophomore for Alabama next season with three years of eligibility remaining.

Scott’s return brings the Crimson Tide back up to six wide receivers on next year’s roster, joining Ryan Williams, Isaiah Horton, Lotzeir Brooks, Derek Meadows and Cederian Morgan. Alabama has lost four receivers to the transfer portal: Cole Adams, Jaylen Mbakwe, Jalen Hale and Bubba Hampton.

The transfer portal will remain open until Jan. 16.
