UConn Football tabs Kent State's Kerry Dixon as new Wide Receivers Coach
UConn Football has added their first assistant coach of the Jason Candle era today, as Kent State wide receivers coach Kerry Dixon will reunite with Candle, according to a post on X from ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
The Houston, Texas native and will join the program as the program’s wide receivers coach after spending the 2025 season with Kent State in the same role.

Prior to Kent State, Dixon spent two years in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens as the franchise’s assistant quarterbacks coach, helping to develop 2022 Pro Bowler Tyler Huntley and 2023 NFL MVP Lamar Jackson. Prior to that he was an assistant coach at several spots including Florida, FIU, Georgia Tech and Toledo.
Dixon went on to develop several notable players over that time, working with guys like Jalen Camp, Ahmarean Brown, Antonio Callaway, Tyrie Cleveland and several others. He was also named one of the Top 25 recruiters in the country by Rivals.com during his three seasons with the Florida Gators.
As mentioned above, he spent one season at Toledo back in 2018, where he was Candle’s running backs coach for the Rockets.
