Texas Tech WR Price Morgan to enter transfer portal
Texas Tech wide receiver Price Morgan has announced his intention to enter the transfer portal.
Morgan transferred to Texas Tech from Central Missouri University prior to the 2024 season. Morgan is the older brother of Texas Tech redshirt freshman safety and former 4-star Peyton Morgan.
In his first season in Lubbock Morgan did not see any game action and redshirted.
This season he saw limited action, playing 16 snaps on offense and one on special teams, all during non-conference play. He made a 12 yard catch in the second game of the season vs Kent State, the only of his Texas Tech career.
Morgan will have one season of eligibility remaining at his next school of choice.

2024 SEASON (JUNIOR)
- Redshirt season … did not see any game action during his first season as a Red Raider … scout team member.
PRIOR TO TEXAS TECH
- Arrived at Texas Tech after playing two seasons at Central Missouri University … joined the Red Raiders with two seasons of eligibility remaining (as well as a redshirt season).
- Combined for 57 catches for 538 yards and six touchdowns over 22 games as a Mule, the bulk of which came as a sophomore in 2023.
- 2023 SEASON (SOPHOMORE): appeared in all 13 games as a sophomore for a Central Missouri team that advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division-II playoffs … named an honorable mention selection to the 2023 Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) postseason team after catching 50 passes for 487 yards and six touchdowns.
- Helped lead Central Missouri to an 11-win season, its most victories since 2019 … caught at least one pass in all 13 games, including a career-high seven for 62 yards and a touchdown against Fort Hays State (11/4) … had three or more receptions in 10 games that season … started the season with a touchdown catch in four of the first six contests … ranked tied for third on the team in receptions and touchdown catches as well as fifth for receiving yards.
- 2022 SEASON (FRESHMAN): saw action in nine games as a true freshman … caught seven passes for 51 yards as a reserve wide receiver … best performance came via two catches for 26 yards at Emporia State (10/8) midway through the season.
HIGH SCHOOL
- Attended his hometown Pflugerville Weiss High School in the Austin area … instrumental in securing both the 2021 district and bi-district championships for Weiss.
- A first team All-State and first team All-District honoree in 2021 as a senior … was recognized as the 2021 Utility Player of the Year … tabbed second team All-District as a junior in 2020.
- Recorded 115 receptions for 1,725 yards and 19 touchdowns during his high school career … amassed 2,246 all-purpose yards and scored 22 touchdowns in total after finding the end zone three times as a kick returner.
PERSONAL
- Christian Price Morgan … prefers to use Price as first name … the son of Brett and Chaka Price-Morgan … has three siblings, Chase, Paige and Peyton … he and his younger brother, Peyton, both joined the Red Raider football team in 2024.
- His mother previously played basketball collegiately at Murray State, while his father was a wide receiver at Spokane Falls College … his Godfather, Jerome Madison, played football for Missouri.
- A university studies major at Texas Tech.
