WPIAL Football Weekend Recruiting News

Regardless of the weather, college recruiting doesn’t take a day off and that was the case over the weekend despite the record snowfall across the country.

Plenty of WPIAL athletes received news and we’ll get you caught up on that in the Frank Walker Law/WPIAL Recruiting Notebook.

*Kia Jones- 2028 cornerback from Seton LaSalle High School. Received an offer from both Mississippi State and Houston. Jones (6’1″, 170-pounds) holds other offers from California, Boston College, Memphis, Toledo, Miami Ohio, UMass and Sacramento State.

*Per Dawgs Recruiting, McKeesport 2027 5-star running back Kemon Spells will make making an unofficial visit this weekend to Georgia. Spells is coming off a recent visit to Matt Campbell and Penn State.

*Will Sabatos- 2027 athlete from Bethel Park High School. Received an offer from Mickey Jacobs and UConn. Sabatos (6’2″, 200) also received an offer on Saturday from Eastern Michigan while attending their Junior Day. Sabatos received his first D-1 offer from Miami Ohio.


*Former Aliquippa and current St. Frances Academy 2027 3-star running back Sa’Nir Brooks made a commitment to Syracuse over the weekend. Brooks held other Power 4 offers from Pitt, Rutgers, West Virginia, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington and Virginia Tech.

*Jordan Reid- 2027 Athlete from Westinghouse High School received an offer from Eastern Michigan while attending their Junior Day. Reid holds other offers from Akron, Sacramento State and Delaware State.

*K’shawn Hawkins- 2027 Athlete from Westinghouse High School received an offer from Eastern Michigan, which becomes his 1st D-1 offer.

*Gabe Jenkins– 2027 4-star athlete from Imani Christian Academy received an offer over the weekend from Michigan. On3 ranks Jenkins as one of the Top 200 overall players in the Class of 2027. Over the weekend, Jenkins made an unofficial visit to Penn State and received an in-person visit last week from Pat Narduzzi and Cory Sanders from Pitt.



*Jon Sassic– 2027 3-star offensive lineman from Central Catholic High School received an offer from James Franklin and Penn State. Sassic (6’6″, 295-pounds) holds other Power 4 offers from Pitt, West Virginia and NC State.

*Zachary Gleason– 2027 3-star athlete from Central Catholic High School received an offer from Virginia Tech. Gleason holds other Power 4 offers from Penn State, West Virginia, California, Rutgers, Syracuse, SMU, Indiana, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Michigan State and Ole Miss.
