Mt. Lebo's Eli Heidenreich Accepts Invite to East-West Shrine Bowl
Mt. Lebanon native and Navy standout Eli Heidenreich is set to compete in one of the top NFL prospect showcases.
Heidenreich, a senior running back/wide receiver for the Midshipmen, officially accepted his invite to the East-West Shrine Bowl.
The East-West Shrine Bowl will take place on Jan. 27, 2026 at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. In the meantime, Navy is set to face Cincinnati in the Liberty Bowl on Jan. 2.
The 6-foot, 206-pound Heidenreich caught 46 passes for 877 yards and five receiving touchdowns to go along with 437 rushing yards and three scores on 67 attempts.
In last weekend’s Army-Navy game, Heidenreich posted 100 all-purpose yards, including an 8-yard receiving touchdown. He’s biggest play of the game, however, came midway through the fourth quarter when Heidenreich recovered a Navy fumble inside the red zone. The recovery allowed for the Navy offense to score the go-ahead touchdown en route to a 17-16 victory over Army.
In 37 career games at the Naval Academy, Heidenreich has compiled 1,930 receiving yards and 15 touchdown receptions to go along with 1,095 rushing yards and seven scores.
At Mt. Lebanon High School, Heidenreich helped the Blue Devils to a WPIAL and PIAA 6A title in 2021 as a senior. He scored 29 touchdowns and 2,266 all-purpose yards during the 15-0 campaign.
