Montour standout freshman cornerback Archie Collins IV is officially on the national recruiting map.

This morning, Collins received his second Power 4 offer, this one coming from Miami, Fla. Back in November, Collins received his first Power 4 offer from Pitt.

This will no doubt become an interesting situation to watch over the next few years as Collins’ father, Archie, is Pitt’s secondary coach.

In his first season of varsity football, Collins had an outstanding season for Montour on offense, defense and special teams.

On defense, Collins was a standout safety finishing the season with 42 tackles, 4 for losses, 15 passes defended and 3 interceptions. On offense, he carried the ball 28 times for 252 yards, caught 23 passes for 265 yards and collected 6 touchdowns.

Collins also was a major contributor on special teams as he returned 14 kickoffs for 374 yards (26.7 per return), including a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

With this performance, Collins was named a first team Max Prep freshman All-American defensive back.

Along with Pitt and Miami Fla., Collins has received D-1 offers from Akron, Miami Ohio, Old Dominion, Charlotte, UNLV and Georgia State.

Collins is not only a talented football player but is also an outstanding and award-winning high school wrestler.
