HC Dru Joyce and his Duquesne coaching staff will have some work to do in reloading their roster as they lose a player to the transfer portal.

Per Sam Kayser of @LeagueRDY, junior guard Jimmie Williams intends to enter the transfer portal.

In his first season with Duquesne after transferring in from South Florida, Williams was the Dukes second leading scorer as he averaged 15.1 PPG, 4.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.6 steals in 33 games. Following the season, Williams was named 3rd Team All-Atlantic 10.

Williams had a noticeable increase in his production from his last season at South Florida and his only season with Joyce and Duquesne.

2024-25 (South Florida): 7.5 PPG, 2.6 Rebounds, 1.2 Assists, 33.9 3-Point Pct.
2025-26 (Duquesne): 15.1 PPG, 4.5 Rebounds, 2.6 Assists, 40.0 3-Point Pct.

The backcourt of Williams and leading scorer Tarence Guinyard (16.6 PPG) were one of the top backcourts in the A-10 conference and a huge reason for Duquesne’s 18-15 record.

Losing Guinyard, Williams, David Dixon, Alex Williams and John Hugley are a lot of points, assists and rebounds to try and replace.

The NCAA Transfer Portal official opens on Tuesday, April 6th.
