Owls in the mix for JUCO tight end

Ryley Zaluski, a 6-foot-4, 238-pound tight end who just completed his redshirt freshman season at Kansas’ Coffeyville Community College, announced Monday that he has pared a list of 13 offers down to a final four, and Temple made the cut.

The Owls are in the mix with Nevada, Georgia State and Centra Michigan.

A graduate of Texas’ Arlington High School, Zaluski started his career at Arkansas State before enrolling at Coffeyville. He caught 13 passes for 111 yards and four touchdowns this season and earned second-team Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference honors. He started his career as a quarterback before moving to tight end.

Temple is looking to add some talent and depth to a tight end room that as of now includes rising senior Peter Clarke, rising sophomore Ryder Kusch and rising junior Daniel Evert. Clarke, who garnered second team all-American Conference honors, finished with career-best totals of 30 catches for 483 yards and six touchdowns to go with a 16.1 yards-per-catch mark.
