On January 15, Cornerbacks Coach Daryl Dixon was promoted by Head Coach Jeff Monken to serve as Army’s Defensive Coordinator.
Entering his 11th year at the Academy this February, Dixon has long been a vital part of the Black Knights’ football culture. He is widely respected and trusted by his players, and there is little doubt he is ready for this next step.
Dixon began his coaching tenure at West Point as the outside linebackers coach from 2016–2018, before transitioning to coach the cornerbacks, where he continued to make a strong impact on the program.
On Wednesday, GBK’s Joe Iacono caught up with Dixon for an exclusive one-on-one interview to discuss his promotion, the defense, and what lays ahead.
