It looks like Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm will be tasked with replacing another one of his staff members this offseason.

This time, a position coach.

According to Ryan Clarke of The Oregonian, Cardinals tight end coach Ryan Wallace will be leaving the program to join JaMarcus Shephard’s initial staff at Oregon State.

Wallace spent multiple seasons working alongside Shephard at Western Kentucky and also played for the Hilltoppers when Shephard originally began coaching there in 2011. With the Beavers, Wallace will hold a similar role, directing the tight ends but also serving as a co-offensive coordinator.

Previously with Brohm at Purdue and WKU, Wallace has guided all-conference players like Payne Durham and Brycen Hopkins, who had seasons with over 500 receiving yards and at least 50 catches. And while those numbers haven’t necessarily translated to any individual end-of-line pass catchers at Louisville, the room has made up for it as a unit.

This season, redshirt junior tight end Jaleel Skinner caught 20 passes for 199 yards and two scores, and after missing the first couple of games of the year, Nate Kurisky also caught 20 balls for 157 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

In the final game of the season, a 41-0 win over Kentucky, Jacob Stewart caught his first Louisville touchdown on a 43-yard catch and run. Skinner and Kurisky got most of the run this fall and proved to be a solid pairing, which could produce in the red zone and be a safety net for Miller Moss. Both are eligible to return to Louisville next season.

Also, leaving the program is Director of Recruiting Pete Nochta, who will join former Louisville teammate Will Stein at the University of Kentucky. Brohm was quick to fill the hole.
