The University of Louisville football program has picked up its sixth commitment out of the transfer portal. This time, it’s Delaware offensive tackle Anwar O’Neal.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound freshman was a two-year starter for the Blue Hens and chose the Cardinals over schools like Tennessee and Mississippi State. O’Neal will have two years of eligibility remaining.

As a true freshman in 2023, O’Neal appeared in just two games before following it up with an Honorable Mention All-CAA selection in an 11-start 2024. That season, Delaware’s offensive line allowed just 17 sacks. This past fall, Delaware’s first season in C-USA, O’Neal was named honorable mention once more as a left tackle and was one of the most dominant linemen in the conference.

O’Neal has logged over 1,700 career snaps and will join fellow newcomer Eryx Daugherty on the Cardinals’ front five next season. So far, head coach Jeff Brohm has brought in six transfers, including quarterback Lincoln Kieholz, running back Marquise Davis, defensive lineman Daylen Russell, and defensive back DJ Waller.

The Boston College guard, Daugherty, also committed to play for the Cardinals on Tuesday.
