Wisconsin lands in-state twins Hunter and Reece Mallinger
Sussex (Wis.) Hamilton twin offensive linemen Reece Mallinger and Hunter Mallinger announced their commitment to Wisconsin on Wednesday evening.
The Mallinger Brothers just visited Madison again on March 22nd. At that point, they narrowed their offer lists down to Kansas and Wisconsin, ultimately choosing the Badgers.
“There’s nothing like getting the chance to play for my in-state school,” says Hunter, a 6-foot-6, 290-pound four-star per Rivals. “I’m excited to continue playing with my brother and some other big in-state recruits. Not many people can say that they played college ball with their twin brother.”
“Wisconsin felt like home more than any other school,” says Reece, a 6-foot-6, 285-pound recruit. “Getting the chance to play for my home-town team is a dream come true. And I’m super hyped for the opportunity to play with my twin brother. Our situation is truly special, something not many people get to do. I promise to give my all for the Badger Nation! Now let’s JumpAroundMadTown.”

Indiana, Minnesota, Northwestern, Stanford and others had offered both brothers.
As juniors, Reece played largely at right tackle and Hunter played largely at left tackle for Hamilton with times where they would move and both line up on the same side of the formation.
Offensive line coach Eric Mateos came in and built a great relationship quickly with the Mallingers. Offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes and head coach Luke Fickell also had large roles in their recruitment.
Both were WFCA All-Region selections last season.
Wisconsin now has seven commitments in their 2027 recruiting class. All seven come from inside state lines.
