Virginia Tech lands former Penn State, Syracuse OT commit Roseby Lubintus
Blackwood (N.J.) Timber Creek three-star offensive tackle Roseby Lubintus has committed to Virginia Tech.
Lubintus chose the Hokies after taking an official visit to Blacksburg over the weekend. He’s a former Penn State and Syracuse commit and is now reuniting with new VT head coach James Franklin.
He’s the No. 913 overall prospect and No. 67 OT in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 18 recruit in New Jersey.
The 6-foot-5.5, 350-pound trench monster was Franklin’s first public offer after the longtime head coach was appointed in Blacksburg. Lubtinus had flipped from Penn State to Syracuse in July, but decommitted from the Orange in October.

After visiting for Virginia Tech’s game against Miami on Nov. 22, Lubintus began to trend heavily toward the ACC program, as did myriad other former and current Penn State commits. He’s now locked in ahead of National Signing Day.
Lubintus is the second commitment for Franklin, following four-star running back Messiah Mickens. More is likely on the way, as the Hokies are now trending for a slew of others, too, per the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine.
The updated class can be seen here. Virginia Tech had the No. 121 class in the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings last week. Lubtinus and Mickens have already vaulted it up to No. 89.
