Top 2026 recruit Julia Scott commits to Clemson
Top 2026 recruit Julia Scott has committed to Clemson, she told Rivals. The 6-3 forward from Nanuet (NY) Albertus Magnus chose the Tigers over Michigan and Notre Dame.
“It honestly just felt like home the second I walked on campus,” Scott told Rivals. “The coaching staff is amazing, the girls are amazing. I just felt like it was the right place.”
Scott’s relationship with the coaching staff was a major factor in her decision.
“We’re honestly so close,” Scott said. “They care just so much about me – not just as a player, as a person. [Coach Shawn Poppie] has just been amazing. They came to my house for a home visit. They’ve come to my practices. They’ve just tried to get to know me as a person, like I said, and on a deeper level, which made them stand out.”
But it was more than just relationships that led to Scott’s commitment. She believes in what Poppie and his staff are building.

“Obviously I want a school that can win,” Scott said. “I feel like Coach Poppie, coming into Clemson in his new role, can definitely do that.”
And Scott is ready to help them reach their potential.
“I’ll probably be a stretch four,” Scott said. “Doing everything – shooting the three, posting up, screening, rolling, whatever it is they need me to do.”
While her arrival is still nearly a year away, Scott is thrilled to be a Tiger.
“Just continuing to work,” Scott said. “I’ve been dreaming about this since I was a child. Actually getting one step closer and knowing where I’m going to college – that’s just crazy in my mind. So I’m just excited to get there and start the season.”
