4-star LB Isaiah Simmons commits to Pitt

Norfolk (Va.) Maury four-star linebacker Isaiah Simmons has committed to Pitt, he announced on Saturday evening via X.

Coming off an official visit to the ACC program, Simmons chose the Panthers over the likes of Virginia Tech, Virginia and Indiana.

He is the No. 397 overall prospect and No. 31 LB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 12 player in Virginia.

The 6-foot, 190-pounder becomes the highest-ranked prospect in the fold for Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi and his staff.

A two-time state champion, Simmons is an integral piece to the Maury roster. Last season, the Commodores went undefeated and took home another trophy. Simmons is a three-time all-state selection.

Pitt continues big recruiting weekend

Commitments are coming in hot for the Panthers amidst a big weekend of official visits. Simmons is the highlight addition to the class.

Pittsburgh Peters Township three-star LB Reston Lehman and Clearwater (Fla.) three-star cornerback Kentrail McRae are among the other new additions to the class this weekend. Lehman is a top-500 prospect and the No. 14 player in Pennsylvania this cycle, while McRae is the No. 81 corner in the On300.

Last month brought a commitment from Orlando First Academy three-star wide receiver Demetrice McCray. He’s one of two Sunshine State pass-catchers in the class, alongside Sarasota (Fla.) Booker three-star WR Dylan Wester.

In January, Southlake (Texas) Carroll three-star quarterback Angelo Renda committed to Pitt over in-state SMU and others. He’s now the No. 67 signal-caller in the cycle and plays for one of the top high school football programs in Texas.

The class also features Westerville (Ohio) three-star safety Isaac Patterson and Detroit Cass Tech three-star linebacker Marcus Jennings. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Jennings is a top-15 player in Michigan this cycle.
